As a global outdoor lifestyle brand, Timberland has always been driven by a commitment to innovate and operate in an accountable and responsible manner – in terms of our products, the outdoors and the communities around the globe where we operate. As part of this commitment, we have established rigorous environmental standards – Timberland Environmental Product Standards (TEPS) – across all Timberland product categories.
Rather than focus on one product collection, we’re now applying meaningful environmental standards to all Timberland products. By creating environmental targets for the entire line, we aim to significantly increase our use of recycled, organic and renewable materials, especially materials like recycled rubber and recycled PET.
TEPS will play a key role in helping us achieve some our 2020 product goals including:
“At Timberland, we hold ourselves accountable for what goes into our products as well as how they’re made, and we’re constantly seeking innovative solutions to reduce their environmental impact,” said Collen Vien, sustainability director for Timberland. “With TEPS, we aim to reduce the environmental impact of virtually every product we make. Over time, as our business continues to grow, this has the power to make a big difference.”
